This has been the worst decision of my life to go with Travel Triangle. The agent was least bothered about us once we had paid the full amount. Driver was so effing arrogant. On two occasions, he said he won't go there( I told him to take us to some restaurant in Guwahati which I googled) because of traffic.
Hotel- Hotel in Shillong was at best 1 star. It was in the outskirts and a bit shady as well. They have selected hotels based on how less their petrol will be utilised since they don't have to go inside the city while going to next destination. North East is all about hopping on from 1 destination to other.
I called the agent at 8.30 pm to let him know that this hotel is not safe since I was hearing loud drunken noises outside my room, but he didn't pick up. I avoided going out on my own as driver was also not conducive and it is unsafe outside also after 8. (Sun sets at 5:30)
Sightseeing - Very rigid itinerary and driver won't go even 1 place off the itinerary. While it was discussed initially that we would plan our outgoing on the spot since I have researched a bit. But no, they sticked to their own places.
We couldn't visit Kamakhya temple because the driver told us outrightly that there are long queues else you have to pay 5000 rs for VIP darshan. On the contrary, I met travelers in Cheerapunji who told us that by paying 500, you can do the darshan and even in the general queue we can get the darshan within 4, 5 hours if we go early.
They (driver and agent) never told us there are 4500 steps to visit double root bridge. I informed them that we don't want to do any trek and wanted this to be a relaxing trip. But on our 2nd last day (when we were supposed to go to the double root bridge), we learned that we had to go to 4500 steps. Of course we skipped that day and wasted our time in hotel. Driver slept like a baby that day.
On our last day, we told him to take us somewhere (some famous restaurant), he said there will be wastage of petrol as there will be traffic.
I wouldn't have posted a review but this statement broke the ceiling.
On top of it, I messaged Travel Triangle agent Mr Pravin Kumar Thakur, but he didn't even reply.
So please don't waste your money ever by selecting Travel Triangle as well as travel agent's company NORTH EAST WINDOW TRAVELS, GUWAHATI.
